Another amazing week!

You’ll get to vote on your favorite later tonight!

Last week it was easier to choose my favorites. This week, I’m completely befuddled. I have no clear favorite. They are all great!

My Favorites are Phillip Sevy, Cynthia “Thea” Rodgers, and Bill Walko. I just love the styles they used. But everyone did great this week.

Crapjackets! This may be the most stellar week ever.

Marco D’Alfonso’s Western Ninja Turtles is perfection in layout and rendering. John Trumbull’s procedural drama mash-up is great fun. Jason Gonzalez’s Ganster Pulp Novel is superb. Daniel Cox’s Goon romance is creepy and sweet at the same time. And Josh Gowdy’s Musical Flash Gordon is a sublime throwback!

Whew! GREAT JOB everyone!

Woo, that Flash Gordon musical is perfection!

I may abstain from this vote out of protest. Why do we have to choose?? Can’t they all just draw every week? You artists make it so friggin hard to decide.

i LOVE feminist Starfire

How about we kick out the current TLIID crowd and replace them with this bunch?
Just kidding, but this is a wonderful selection here. I was hoping someone would drop the ball to make the voting easier but nope, there’s a Flash Gordon musical waiting.

Love the Darkseid and Galactus piece…the double whammy of the foot and omega beams was perfect! THEY ARE!

galactus and darkseid…..funny and irreverent.

Damn, they’re all fantastic artists.

Great week, not a single weak link. If I had to pick a favourite I’d say the Disney Wonder Woman piece, but all the pictures were really top-notch

Feminist Starfire was great, if only for Supergirl’s comparison check. That made me laugh. The best ones were Western TMNT and Post-Apocalyptic Batman I think.

“Goon with the WIND!”

AHAHAHAHAHA!

Aw, Man you guys… there’s room for all of you! Hop aboard the TLiiD train! I can’t bear to see any one of you go!

Seriously.

Now that tryout week is over, I just want to give a shout out to all my fellow artists – every week you humble me with how awesome your stuff is. Wow. And this week is no exception. Great pieces and good luck!

Maybe the best overall week yet, but the Galactus/Darkseid courtroom drama by John Trumbull was top notch.

John Trumbull’s courtroom mashup is awesome. All of this week’s submissions were exceptional, but Mr Trumbull’s was the best.

Can’t we have TWO groups of artists? Seriously. These guys have a lot of talent. Just give them different assignments.

This looks like a job for the Legion of Substitute The Line It Is Drawn Artists!

Batwoman: “. . . nniiiiiiicccccceeee.”

Also: wouldn’t they be Teenage Mutant Cowboy Turtles? I’m not seeing any ninja implements of death there.

my god this week’s entries are awesome!..
it’s been a ton of fun being a part of the TLID tryouts!
i really looked forward to seeing everyone’s fresh new art every week.

I wish we could all make it through and keep this train rolling..
but good luck to all…

I just want to say that, no matter who ends up joining the official roster, I think every one of you has the potential to be a professional artist. Pretty much every one of these pieces would not be out of place in a published comic. No matter what happens, all of you, please continue to draw and continue to share your work with us.

Seriously. These last few tryout weeks have been at least as strong as the main The Line It Is Drawn entries, and that’s not meant in any way as a criticism of the regular crew. It’s just that any or all of these artists would easily be worthy additions to the roster. It’s a ridiculously tough call to make.

Thanks for all the support, everyone — I’m proud to be in such stellar company! :)

That would be awesome.

Thea! Thea! Thea!

She gives the crowd what they want. Would buy a monthly comic for her art.

Uh, these are all amazing. Feminist Starfire was the funniest, but there’s really not a weak one among them.

I know this has been said a jillion times…but can’t they ALL just be on the team? What’ll it hurt, besides the good-natured point of this contest?

Come on…it’s like choosing a favorite kid!

(Thanks for your hard work, folks. Truly inspiring!)

You know, I almost didn’t do the Starfire piece…. but I laughed so hard at the thought of the imagery, it just had to get out there. I’m really happy that my pieces have gotten the positive response that they have and am so proud to be in the company of such fantastic artists. May the best man (ahem….or other non gender specific person) win! Sorry, shameless plug, I know, I know. Great work, guys, I wish you the best!

The first Green Lantern manga one is the best. He looks like a grown-up version of Trowa Barton from Gundam Wing.

[...] my latest — this was for week three of CBR’s “The Line Is Drawn” try-outs. The theme was “comic book characters in different genres.” I really went for the [...]
