Comics Should Be Good’s 4th Annual March Madness!!
Welcome to the 2012 DC/Marvel Comic Character Tournament!
As the NCAA basketball tournament goes along, so will a series of polls matching various comic book characters against each other. You’ll have 48 hours (from when the polls go up) to pick whichever character is your favorite in each match-up (judged by whether they’re more interesting, more appealing, whatever criteria you feel like choosing). The winner will advance to the next round, so on and so forth until we get a champion in the beginning of April!
To seed the characters, I used their rankings from the 2011 Top DC/Marvel Characters poll. They’re seeded the way the actual tournament seed the teams (like the top #1 seed is in the same region as the worst #2 seed, etc.)

we already know it’s going to be a male either Hulk, Spiderman, Thor, Batman or Superman, if it’s a woman it’ll be the predictable storm or wonder woman

Winter Soldier would kick the Things butt. Nightwing would crush Darkseid.

@ Adam
Storm is going to get knocked out of the tourney right away by deadpool. I think that this is going to be much harder to predict than that.

Wow. This was a pretty tough bracket to fill out. I was certain Wolvie or Batman would be my #1 until I did the bracket.

“You’ll have 48 hours (from when the polls go up) to pick whichever character is your favorite in each match-up (judged by whether they’re more interesting, more appealing, whatever criteria you feel like choosing).”
FYI – I chose my faves. Not who would win in a battle.
@ Patrick – Storm was in my top 4.

is this base on who you like or who could actually beat who power-wise?

Phoenix wins based on stats unless Marvel randomly inserts themselves in the championship with another illogical Jean Grey death for the gazillionth time.
Storm for president, maybe she’ll throw a bouncey ball at Deadpool and he’ll get distracted.

I think it’s actually based on who you like and not power-wise though. <_<

Yep, Phoenix (Jean) would win.

Wasn’t last year the “Who Would Win in a Fight” tourney where Thor beat Batman? In a favorites contest, like this year, it will always come down to Spider-man and Batman if they’re on opposite sides of the bracket.

I think we all know the finals will be Batman vs. Spider-Man, but the other matchups could prove interesting.

Awww…poor Steph. She would’ve gotten a lot further if she wasnt up against Spidey in Round 1.
It would be interesting to knock out the Top Seeds in the first round, just to where it goes after that.
Vote AGAINST Batman, Superman, Spidey, Wolverine, Cap, etc.

Doesn’t Batman always win these things? There should be a losers tournament of characters who aren’t on the A-List.

I like that idea. Like the NIT.
