The Line it is Drawn #120 – Happy Holidays From the Line it is Drawn!
Go follow Comics Should Be Good on Twitter (if you have Twitter, that is – if you don’t, you can go sign up). Here is our Twitter page… http://twitter.com/csbg. And here are the Comics Should Be Good writers who are on Twitter (the links go to the person’s Twitter account) – myself, Greg Hatcher, Chad Nevett, Kelly Thompson, Bill Reed, Sonia Harris, Melissa K. and Ken H.
I update the blog’s Twitter account updates whenever a new post is put up on the blog, so it’s an easy way to keep up with the blog. In addition, I post new content on the blog’s Twitter account.
Now on to the bit!
So every week, I ask a question here. You reply to it on our Twitter page (just write @csbg with your reply) and our blog sketch artists will each pick one of your suggestions and I will post them here every week. So every week you will have a new question and you will see the choices picked from the previous week. Here is an archive of all the previous editions of The Line It Is Drawn!
To qualify, you have to be following us when you reply – so go follow us and then give your answer to the following question/challenge (All suggestions due by 9:00 AM Pacific Christmas Eve).
The topic is…
As the new year begins, I think of fresh starts, like perhaps a brand-new #1! So suggest lesser-known Marvel characters that you’d like to see be given the Marvel Now treatment and our artists will work up a cover of their first issue.
Read on for the sketches that came about courtesy of the last question/challenge!
Happy Holidays, everyone! Tell us a comic book character as well as a holiday motif you’d like to see said comic book character appear in! Emma Frost meets Frosty the Snowman? Santa and Son of Satan fight some bad guys? Doc Ock and Aunt May under the mistletoe? So on and so forth!
Enjoy!
I’ll put them in alphabetical order based on the name of the Twitter user who made the suggestion.

Marco makes me yearn for a Deadpool/Boba Fett ongoing. Seriously Marvel, you can actually make this happen. Just do it already.

Oh man, these are terrific. The Rankin-Bass homages in the Deadpool/Boba Fett one are adorable, and I’m loving the cameos in Mephisto’s realm, too.

“Do you keep those basketballs in your suit for the boys to play with?”
Bwa-Ha-Ha! That’s the best laugh I’ve had all day! Nicely done, Axel.

Love the dialogue in Catwoman piece, but a load of great stuff here! (though I can’t get over the probably very intentional contextual irony of Dean Martin having made a record “Making Spirits Bright”)

Rumor has it that Marvel may get the Star Wars comic license back, so maybe Fett / Deadpool isn’t completely out of the question.

Amazing, amazing stuff! From the dialogue in Axel’s Catwoman piece and Paul’s Doctor Who/Cindy Lou team up to Bill’s Xmas cover album homages and Thea’s Wondy and the JL Boys postcard, there was no shortage of brilliant work here.
My only slight source of discontent is that Nick missed a golden opportunity to draw Peter/Spider-Man and Mary Jane kissing under the mistletoe in that disgruntled Mephisto pic. But otherwise some really cool stuff!

Rudolph’s laser sight is awesome.
I also dig how Nick stuck Hot Stuff and Crumb’s Devil Girl in hell. And whoever that schlub in the devil costume is (I’m not placing him).
Catwoman was awesome, though.
Always such good stuff, folks. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and see y’all in 2013!

Thanks, jolly commenters, and great work as always, Liners (even if we are missing some this time)… have a great Christmas and a better New Year, everyone.

Had to give some love for the combo of one of my favorite duos with two of my favorite team of three..Heat and Cold Miser meeting Firestar and Iceman.
When I read it, I kinda thought we’d have Santa in Captain America’s pose punching Hitler. But we can’t have too many interpretations of Hitler getting punched.
Squirrel Girl’s positioning is, well, ahem, NEXT….
And isn’t that the Saturday Night Live Jon Lovitz devil in the hell pic?
