REVIEW: "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is a Lot of Fun, a Little Flawed, and Whedon All the Way
Comic Books, Film
It occurs to me that it seems like many comic book covers are homages. Which is fine with me. I have no problem with it. It just made me think, though, how long could I go before I hit a week where NO new comic book was released that had a cover that was an homage to something (I plan to discount the “skip week” Diamond Comics is having between Christmas and New Years this year, but maybe I’ll see something that works!)? Let’s find out! Here is an archive of all the cover homages featured in the streak so far!
This week, we’ll go with Chris Bachalo and Tim Townsend’s cover to Avengers Arena #2, homaging Barron Storey’s legendary cover for the mass market paperback edition of the novel Lord of the Flies (Avengers Arena is pointedly wearing its influences on its sleeve).
Thirteen weeks down! Will we make it to week fourteen? Will I not actually have to skip the skip week? Find out!
