The Past Was Close Behind: Captain America Gives the Skrulls Invasion Tips

Our latest example comes from a suggestion by Nick Marino, who shows how Captain America might have inadvertently given the Skrulls some invasion tips.
In 1998′s Captain America #7 by Mark Waid, Andy Kubert and Jesse Delperdang, Cap foils a Skrull plot and in the end, tells them…
In 2007, Cap was seemingly killed…
And in 2008, while he was still dead, they took his advice and invaded then.

I would say the issue with this is that the Skrull Invasion was planned from BEFORE Cap said this, according to all the stuff Bendis added in New and Mighty Avengers about how far back it went.

@Charles: The invasion was planned, but Cap happened to be dead when they sprung the trap.

Yeah, they planned it before but they didn’t actually strike “back… for crimes against Skrulldom” until after he was temporarily dead.

Brian, I have just checked, and I’m fairly sure that Steve “died” in 2007, not 2005.

Add me to the list of people praising the new feature. It’s kind of like a “You Decide” in that it’s a feature that lends itself to short posts that we can all discuss in the comments, freeing Brian up to work on the longer features (Urban Legends, Crazy Patterns, etc.). I’ll start looking for stuff to suggest.

What about the time the X-Men fought the Skrulls while they were time traveling? I believe it happened around 2000.
