The Great Comic Book Cover Homage Streak: Week 17
It occurs to me that it seems like many comic book covers are homages. Which is fine with me. I have no problem with it. It just made me think, though, how long could I go before I hit a week where NO new comic book was released that had a cover that was an homage to something? Let’s find out! Here is an archive of all the cover homages featured in the streak so far!
This week we feature Jorge Fares’ cover for Pathfinder #4, homaging Jeff Johnson and Terry Austin’s classic Wonder Man #18 cover from 1993.

Seventeen weeks down! Will we make it to week eighteen? Find out!

Also, remember when Amazing Spider-Man #50 copied this “classic Wonder Man #18 cover from 1993″?
Naw, i’m just kidding you, Brian! But you need to update the text of the post!

Why don’t we see more homages of that Wonder Man cover? It’s so iconic!

Although now that I look closer at it, I don’t think this is an homage to Wonder Man #18. I think it’s an homage to Bartman #4.

It’s a joke, son. But it ‘s complicated a bit because the WM cover wasn’t patterned after this image at all, but the more famous interior image from ASM 50.

Actually, Jazzbo, I think you might have meant this iconic Sonic the Hedgehog #134 cover:

It’s entirely possible that Brian meant this paradigmatic cover of Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham #15:

Bully, you’ve now completely missed the original joke twice. Brian doesn’t need to update the text of the original post, nor is he the one being made fun of.

I wonder which one could be the most homaged cover ever…
Well, anyway i’m not going to lose much sleep about that.

I…I don’t have a cover to add in here, nor a humorous comment to make.
Just that the Wonder Man thing made me laugh and laugh, and the piling on made it more better.

Because she’s wearing a vest that is open, I’m finding that Sonic cover a little scandalous….

Shit, you’re right, that did mess the joke up a bit. Oh well, people still got the joke!

I believe that the Croninbot5000 is programmed to make “mistakes” like this every so often so that we continue to believe that it is human.

Thank you for making me feel incredibly stupid for being silly about what I thought was a mistake. So long.
