3 Chicks Review Comics – EPISODE 50!!!

Hey! It’s our 50th episode! ANNIVERSARY TIME!

Inside this episode! It’s our 50th Episode! Woo! Join us for a YA-themed discussion with reviews of Brian Wood and Ming Doyle’s Mara #2, and Rob Reger, Mariah Huehner, and Emily Ivie’s Emily & The Strangers #1. Stay tuned after that for an interview with Bryan Q. Miller as we discuss his wonderful Kickstarter project Earthward, as well as all things Smallville (and a few Batgirl Vol. 3 tidbits too). We also as that for our anniversary (in addition to sending super expensive gifts, of course) you sound off in the comments about what some of your favorite moments/episodes/guests have been…as well let us know who you’d like us to try to get on in the future. Thanks so much for listening everyone!

*We did have some problems with Bryan’s audio cutting out – it always comes back but I’m sorry that we weren’t able to correctly troubleshoot it during the cast. Apologies!

Here are the breaks:

Review of Mara #2! – 02:00

Review of Emily & The Strangers #1 – 09:28

Interview with Bryan Q. Miller! – 15:41

50th Episode “chit chat” – 1:13:39

3 Chicks Review Comics is a podcast featuring female comics lovers and bloggers Sue from DC Women Kicking Ass and Kelly Thompson from She Has No Head! Tune in to CSBG every other Monday at noon as we review comics and discuss hot topics of the week. In addition to the blogs above, you can also follow us all on twitter as well: Kelly and Sue.  Special thanks to Nik Furious for our awesome 3 Chicks theme song.

*As always beware of spoilers if you haven’t read the books in question! Advance reviews are always spoiler-free!

a fitting episode for your 50th! thanks for the shout-out, and it was awesome getting to come on the show however long ago that was.

i loved the way Sue started off her Mara #2 thoughts, she sounded so exhausted and unimpressed, sighing and saying all these disclaimers that she liked the first issue, that i was convinced she was prefacing a negative review, but then she didn’t!

Great episode, I love BQM. As for my favorite 3 Chicks moment, I’d have to pick the Greg Rucka interview. That was amazing!

Kelly, I sent you and Sue an email but I’m having troubles with Hotmail so I’m not sure you actually got. Could you let me know, and ask Sue? It’s about the film group and website I work for, I would love to do something with you two about superhero movies.

Congratulations on 50 podcasts. They’ve always been entertaining, even when I’m banging my head against the wall because I disagree so much!!!! I don’t really have a favorite – I think the ones where you debate issues instead of interviewing people are better, because as much as I like the interviews, it’s rare when someone says something all that surprising. The Rucka Wonder Woman thing was probably the only piece of news that was really surprising. But when you guys debate stuff, then it gets fun!

As for future guests – you know who I’d like to see on the podcast! I guess it’s never going to happen, though, so that’s cool. I will continue to listen, and thanks for enlightening us about a lot of interesting issues in comics.
