The Line it is Drawn #132 – 2013 MODOK March Madness!

Go follow Comics Should Be Good on Twitter (if you have Twitter, that is – if you don’t, you can go sign up). Here is our Twitter page… http://twitter.com/csbg. And here are the Comics Should Be Good writers who are on Twitter (the links go to the person’s Twitter account) – myself, Greg Hatcher, Chad Nevett, Kelly Thompson, Bill Reed, Greg Burgas, Sonia Harris, Melissa K. and Ken H.

I update the blog’s Twitter account updates whenever a new post is put up on the blog, so it’s an easy way to keep up with the blog. In addition, I post new content on the blog’s Twitter account.

Now on to the bit!

So every week, I ask a question here. You reply to it on our Twitter page (just write @csbg with your reply) and our blog sketch artists will each pick one of your suggestions and I will post them here every week. So every week you will have a new question and you will see the choices picked from the previous week. Here is an archive of all the previous editions of The Line It Is Drawn!

To qualify, you have to be following us when you reply – so go follow us and then give your answer to the following question/challenge (All suggestions due by 9:00 AM Pacific on Friday).

The topic is…

Based on a suggestion from my pal Steve, it is Angry Birds week! Suggest comic characters that you’d like to see drawn as Angry Birds characters!

Read on for the sketches that came about courtesy of the last question/challenge!

In honor of MODOK March Madness, tweet us ideas for comic book characters that you’d like to see given the MODOK treatment!

Enjoy!

I’ll put them in alphabetical order based on the name of the Twitter user who made the suggestion.

Holy crap, Brendan, is that Aunt May as the Golden Oldie? XD;
Win!

Excellent work all around, but especially on the Arnim Zola MODOK.

Some of these are just freaky to me. Especially the Mickey one.

Chaz’s drawings don’t usually do much for me, but I LOVE his submission today. Great job.

Some great ideas here, MODOK Zola was awesome and the Plastic Man was hilarious. :D

Peace

October 3, 2012: Matt Fraction and David Aja give us the Hawkblock.

March 28, 2013: Philip Sevy gives us the MODOKblock.

What an age we live in, gentlemen.

“MODOMACTIVATE” needs to be a meme.

You know Uatu MODOK is totally going to block a 3 pointer or something. Non-interference my be-hind!

Great work as usual by everyone.

This week was awesome! So happy I could do Mickey M.O.D.O.K again. Love the WW piece, of course! Axel, your faces were so expressive. Chaz, very freaky, as always. Phil, you have an uncensored version, yes?

Oh, my GOD. I love these so damn much. And not just because my WW and OMAC suggestions were used, although they are more awesome than I could have imagined.

Twilight Sparkle as a MODOK is oddly adorable. OMAC is rather a natural fit. Rather long acronym though. Micky I always found creepy. That’s how he looks in my nightmares. Uncanny!

Phillip Sevy made me LLOL — literally laugh out loud!

All of these are masterpieces! Great job to all!

The Twilight Sparkle one should have said “My Little Pony: Friendship is MODOK”.

Brendan’s was my favorite this time around. Brownie points for including Aunt May as the Golden Oldie!

Xum Yukinori’s is the highlight for me, with all those extra details that go above and beyond. Really neat stuff all around.

Yeah, this was a great week. Chaz nailed it with Arnim Modok. I was quite amused by Sevy’s piece as well. Isn’t Mickey the villain in the next Avengers movie?

[...] enough about me… the “Line It Is Drawn” crew committed to another batch of impressive MODOKontributions… and set the standard for quality… and [...]

Brian, I have to lol, my daughter is WAY too young to know that song… I love it, though! Your quippy lines for her are one of the highlights of her week!

Have any of us liners told you lately how much we appreciate all the hard work you do? I’m saying it now. Thanks for allowing this opportunity to showcase our work and for being so awesome. :) and special thanks from my daughter, liner by proxy.

Thea

Hehehe! Funny stuff from everyone this week! Miss seeing Trumbull in the line-up, but I know he’ll be back…withe even MORE vibro-shock power! Stand outs for me this week are Brendan Tobin’s Galactus image, Josh Gowdy’s piece (nice colors, Josh!), Bill Walko’s uber-funny Modok/Power Girl, and Steve Howard’s Watcher image! Great stuff!
