The Greatest Tom DeFalco Stories Ever Told! – Voting

Here’s the latest of the daily voting threads for The Greatest ____ Stories Ever Told!

Our next creator up for voting is Tom DeFalco.

Besides being the Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics for a number of years, Tom DeFalco has been writing comics for decades now, from his early days at Archie all the way to the current day, with his work at DC Comics. He has had long runs on Marvel Two-in-One, Amazing Spider-Man, Thor, Fantastic Four, Spider-Girl and more.

You have until 11:59 PM Pacific time, April 5th to vote for your top ten favorite comic book stories written or co-written by Tom DeFalco! Your choices will be revealed on April 6th.

You vote by sending your top ten choices to bcronin@comicbookresources.com (make the subject heading clear that it is about The Greatest Tom DeFalco Stories Ever Told Voting) by that time (you send your votes by e-mail, not in the comments to this piece). If you legitimately don’t think you can think of ten stories, I’ll still allow the ballot if you can think of at least six stories.

Be sure to first click here to read about the rules and guidelines for the voting (so you don’t vote for stuff that is ineligible, like you can’t vote for “Tom DeFalco’s Spider-Girl,” you have to pick a specific story or story arc).

I’d prefer you not share your votes in the comments section – please let’s keep it a surprise until the results go up. You can share your votes then if you’d like! In addition, as a general rule for all of these polls, don’t be a jerk about the creator in question in the comments. If you don’t like the creator, fair enough, don’t vote. No snarky comments about the creator. I’ll be deleting comments like that.

Have fun voting and be sure to check back April 6th to see the results!

DeFalco is one of those guys who’s done a whole metric crapload of stories, but 90% of them are thoroughly average, so it’s sort of hard to pick out the truly great ones. I know that I’ve read some legitimately entertaining stuff from him, I just can’t think of any that especially stand out off the top of my head.

Whoops, just noticed his Marvel Two-in-One credits in the above link are far from complete. From another site, he wrote; 40, 75-87, 91-93, 96, Ann 7

This is great! DeFalco’s FF is what got me started on comics. His stuff is up and down sometimes, but I rarely come across a Spidey comic he’s written that I haven’t really really enjoyed.

The 80’s MACHINE MAN mini series that he wrote and was was drawn (and maybe even co-plotted) by BWS,his entire SPIDER-GIRL run,A-NEXT/AVENGERS NEXT,J2,the THUNDERSTRIKE mini series from a couple of years ago,THE CLONE SAGA mini series that he co-wrote with Howard Mackie from a few years ago,the SUPERMAN BEYOND one shot, and that future Thor story that he wrote during his THOR run were IMO DeFalco’s best work.

I imagine that this being so close to the inclusion of the reformed sandman in Abandoned Love is not a coincidence.
Of course his Spidermans included the debut of Silver Sable
