The Line it is Drawn #133 – Angry Birds, Superhero Style!

Go follow Comics Should Be Good on Twitter (if you have Twitter, that is – if you don’t, you can go sign up). Here is our Twitter page… http://twitter.com/csbg. And here are the Comics Should Be Good writers who are on Twitter (the links go to the person’s Twitter account) – myself, Greg Hatcher, Chad Nevett, Kelly Thompson, Bill Reed, Greg Burgas, Sonia Harris, Melissa K. and Ken H.

I update the blog’s Twitter account updates whenever a new post is put up on the blog, so it’s an easy way to keep up with the blog. In addition, I post new content on the blog’s Twitter account.

Now on to the bit!

So every week, I ask a question here. You reply to it on our Twitter page (just write @csbg with your reply) and our blog sketch artists will each pick one of your suggestions and I will post them here every week. So every week you will have a new question and you will see the choices picked from the previous week. Here is an archive of all the previous editions of The Line It Is Drawn!

To qualify, you have to be following us when you reply – so go follow us and then give your answer to the following question/challenge (All suggestions due by 2:00 PM Pacific today).

The topic is…

In honor of the late, great Carmine Infantino, suggest a famous Infantino-drawn comic book cover but with a different comic book character on it (Quicksilver and Hyperion racing a la Superman #199, for instance), and our artists will draw it.

Read on for the sketches that came about courtesy of the last question/challenge!

Based on a suggestion from my pal Steve, it is Angry Birds week! Suggest comic characters that you’d like to see drawn as Angry Birds characters!

Enjoy!

I’ll put them in alphabetical order based on the name of the Twitter user who made the suggestion.

As someone well past the Angry Birds phenomenon, this was not the best TLISD ever for me. I look forward to next week’s quite a bit though.

Looks like you forgot to update the Week #, Brian. Last week was #132. :)

Ha! So I did! Thanks, John, I fixed it.

I wish I’d seen to suggest for this one. The lack of bird Dick/Damians simulpunching a Professor Pyg is a pretty major disappointment.

Artists are pretty much great as always, in spite of a not-super-interesting subject matter.

Those aren’t the original Teen Titans.

At least we now know where the bottom of the barrel is.

Those aren’t the original Teen Titans.

Yep, I copied the wrong suggestion. That poster also suggested the other Teen Titans. Fixed now!

This week was a lot of fun — I had a blast drawing those angry birdies.

Hi Brian, great idea to honour Carmine I’s passing yesterday.

I will look VERY forward to those results.

these are pretty sweet even as someone who’s never ‘got’ Angry Birds.

“the Robins (Dick, Tim, Jason, Damien)”

AND Stephanie!

Some nice work here. I like a lot of them but Doop as an egg cracked me up.

Well Mr Trumbull, I hope you’re satisfied. My nephew wants me to download the Angry Birds X-Men game now :D

How cool would Angry Birds X-men be! Each with their own power. Nightcrawler teleports, Colossus gets metal, Cyclops/Storm shoots, Shadowcat phases through walls! someone needs to call Rovio. That would be cooler than Angry Birds Star Wars.

Also, great week everyone. So much fun. Thanks for picking so many of my suggestions! (I even see Skrull-pigs in the Capt. Marvel one).

Who is the small purple X-man in the last one?

heh, heh. vampire Jubilee. Well played, Mr. Gowdy.

ecovore, the purple bird is Psylocke, which you can tell because she’s manifesting the focused totality of her psychic power in her knifey stabby thing.

Stephanie is in The Robins image by Bill Walko. (Is CBR also editing out all references to Stephanie?)

@exagon- they need a “Where in the World is Stephanie Brown?” addition of this. Because she sure isn’t in the New 52 :(
