AfterShock Comics Enlists Garth Ennis, Neil Gaiman And More
It occurs to me that it seems like many comic book covers are homages. Which is fine with me. I have no problem with it. It just made me think, though, how long could I go before I hit a week where NO new comic book was released that had a cover that was an homage to something? Let’s find out! Here is an archive of all the cover homages featured in the streak so far!
This is a first! I am actually changing covers. My first pick was Dave Ross’ cover for Iron Man #258.2, but I wanted to make sure that it was, in fact, an homage. Too much time passed from when I initially asked Dave about it, so I put up another cover. But Dave just got back to me and he confirmed that it was, indeed, an homage, so I am going back to using it.
So this week we’ll go with Dave Ross’ cover to Iron Man #258.2, which is homaging the famous scene in Apoclaypse Now when Martin Sheen’s character pops his head out from the water.
Thirty-three weeks down! Will we reach thirty-four>?
