The Great Comic Book Cover Homage Streak: Week 35

It occurs to me that it seems like many comic book covers are homages. Which is fine with me. I have no problem with it. It just made me think, though, how long could I go before I hit a week where NO new comic book was released that had a cover that was an homage to something? Let’s find out! Here is an archive of all the cover homages featured in the streak so far!

This week, we’ll go with Ryan Stegman’s cover for Amazing Spider-Man #700, which homages Mark Bagley and Larry Mahlstedt’s cover for Amazing Spider-Man #400.

Thirty-five weeks down! Will we make it to week thirty-six?

Yeesh. 4 printings? How low do they keep these print runs?

Were you referring to Fantastic Four #8? What is it an homage to? It looks familiar, but I can’t quite place it. If I had to guess I’d say something like the Armageddon movie poster.

Yeah, oops, the commenter was actually referring to a book from the PREVIOUS week. My bad.

Surely everyone who wants a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #700 has one by now? Oh well, I look forward to next’s week’s fifth printing of it and a new homage cover.

Was the Deadpool issue (10) with Spidey in it an homage to a Superior Spider-Man cover? It seemed familiar but I couldn’t place it.

The Allred cover to FF 7 is an homage to the Buscema cover to Fantastic Four 109.
