The Line it is Drawn #144 – Go Team Venture!

Go follow Comics Should Be Good on Twitter (if you have Twitter, that is – if you don’t, you can go sign up). Here is our Twitter page… http://twitter.com/csbg. And here are the Comics Should Be Good writers who are on Twitter (the links go to the person’s Twitter account) – myself, Greg Hatcher, Chad Nevett, Kelly Thompson, Bill Reed, Greg Burgas, Sonia Harris, Melissa K. and Ken H.

I update the blog’s Twitter account updates whenever a new post is put up on the blog, so it’s an easy way to keep up with the blog. In addition, I post new content on the blog’s Twitter account.

Now on to the bit!

So every week, I ask a question here. You reply to it on our Twitter page (just write @csbg with your reply) and our blog sketch artists will each pick one of your suggestions and I will post them here every week. So every week you will have a new question and you will see the choices picked from the previous week. Here is an archive of all the previous editions of The Line It Is Drawn!

To qualify, you have to be following us when you reply – so go follow us and then give your answer to the following question/challenge (All suggestions due by 4pm Pacific Friday).

The topic is…

It’s summer time, so tell us how various comic book characters are spending their summer vacation! On the beach, on a trip, you decide!

Read on for the sketches that came about courtesy of the last question/challenge!

In honor of the new season of The Venture Brothers, team-up or mash-up comic characters with Venture Brothers characters.

I’ll put them in alphabetical order based on the name of the Twitter user who made the suggestion.

Great stuff everyone!

Now go make suggestions for next week, people! We’re running way late, so make ‘em quick! You have more time today to make suggestions than normal.

I love them all.

These are a dream come true. LOVE!!!

Gosh, that Cyclops and Havok one is brilliant. I love it!

Possibly my favourite. Ever.

If anyone wonders what “Die Arschmade” means,it is German an translates to ” The Ass-Maggot”
Ich wünsche noch einen schönen Tag. ;-)

The Venture/Summers Brothers one is my absolute favorite.

I guess you had to be there…

Doh! not sure how Nelson and I ended doing the same one :S

So a few weeks ago, we had “Adventure TIme”, now we have “Venture Bros.” Would you guys like me to just send you a list of the rest of my favorite TV shows so we can continue this theme?

Cuz I’m cool with that.

Now we just need a Regular Show theme.

Maybe we should all draw the same suggestion on purpose one week. Could be fun to try. :)

Excellent. Thank you Chaz for drawing my suggestion.

How about an Archer theme?

These are awesome but I’m amazed there’s no Dr. Strange/Orpheus team-up (or at least Orpheus vs Ra’s al Ghul)

If Frank Miller ever brings back Big Guy and Rusty, he needs to get Chaz on to draw it. Great Big Guy there.

how about an Aqua Teen Hunger Force mashup…?

what is a Venture Brothers???

If you’re gonna mash up comics (or superheroes) with awesome cartoon shows that are on now, you can’t go past Mystery Incorporated. Heck, make it all of Hanna Barbera.

Had to google what this Venture Brothers was. Oh. (I haven’t watched television for several years myself and it’s not a show any of my friends have been enthusing about, like Game of Thrones or Adventure Time).

Great work all around! :-)

Brian, why don’t you just post the Twitter announcement for the next week’s suggestions at the same time every week, rather than waiting for the current one to go up? That way people wouldn’t have to rush to come up with suggestions. I think this one had a 6 hour window to make suggestions.

And for that matter, are you ever going to have a Comic Book & Web Comics theme again?

Go Team Summers is t-shirt worthy. Someone needs to send it to teefury or one of those other sites.

Clearly, I’m getting too old. Until now, I’ve never even heard of Venture Brothers.

You should rectify that! It’s an excellent show.

This is stupendous, Modok Monarch and Havok and Cyclops Go Team Venture are my favourites. But super-duper good stuff.

The Brock/Luke Cage one is my favorite. They’re all awesome though. Great show.
