Hey! It’s our 61st Episode 3 Chicks Blue Brown Final2sized

CLICK HERE TO LISTEN, DOWNLOAD, AND/OR SUBSCRIBE TO ITUNES NOW.

Inside this episode! An advance (spoiler free!) review of issue #13 of the Eisner winning Saga by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples and a review of the first issue of Jeff Lemire’s new Trillium mini-series. Then we talk to the lovely Dustin Nguyen about his amazing Batman: Li’l Gothameasily my favorite book DC is publishing right now. We talk process, and what’s in store for Li’l Gotham, and mostly I try my best (and fail miserably) not to fangirl out about all my favorite Li’l Gotham stuff. After the interview we talk about some comics, Sue talks about last weekend and Boston Comic Con, and we talk about the most amazing collaborative sketch of all time! There’s no “dramatic reading” this week as Sue was a bit under the weather, but next time, I promise! (probably).

3 Chicks Review Comics is a podcast featuring female comics lovers and bloggers Sue from DC Women Kicking Ass and Kelly Thompson from She Has No Head! Tune in to CSBG every other Monday at noon as we review comics and discuss hot topics of the week. In addition to the blogs above, you can also follow us all on twitter as well: Kelly and Sue.  Special thanks to Nik Furious for our awesome 3 Chicks theme song.

*As always beware of spoilers if you haven’t read the books in question!

I see these two covers side-by-side, and my immediate impulse is to try to “Comic Book Six Degrees” ‘em, which would be a doomed enterprise here.

lol @buttler

Great episode. I may have to check out Lil Gotham for my niece. Knowing her it’ll end up on my pull list.

Feel better Sue!

I’ve been downloading and listening to a lot of the 3 Chicks podcasts and just want to say how illuminating and entertaining it’s been. Love that this is being put out on as much of a regular basis as you can. Agree wholeheartedly on the idea that more female creatives need to be put on more high profile comic titles as well as the need for better representation of females within the confines of the stories being told. Also DC and WB need to SERIOUSLY get on cracking the code in their overall depiction of Wonder Woman and putting her in the forefront, if only for the factor that she is THEEE iconic female superheroine of them all. P.S. I think if they (WB/DC) have ANY common sense, they’ll put Kelly on the Wonder Woman title and let her fly! I think Kelly really GETS the character and could lend an incredible voice to her comic stories with the character. I’d love to read a Kelly Thompson/Nicola Scott Wonder Woman run.
P.S. It was this podcast that turned me onto Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples’ Saga and I absolutely loved the first issue. ;)
Anxiously awaiting the next podcast. When is it coming out?
