The Great Comic Book Cover Homage Streak: Week 53

It occurs to me that it seems like many comic book covers are homages. Which is fine with me. I have no problem with it. It just made me think, though, how long could I go before I hit a week where NO new comic book was released that had a cover that was an homage to something? Let’s find out! Here is an archive of all the cover homages featured in the streak so far!

This week, we’ll go with reader Luis’ suggestion of Phil Hester’s cover for Green Hornet Legacy #41, which is homaging Dave Cockrum’s cover for X-Men #100

Fifty-three weeks down! Will we make it to week fifty-four?

Oh, how funny. I saw this cover and certainly know the original, but somehow the link didn’t even occur to me.

I would’ve guessed the Saga cover.

Hey, cool. I got to have my suggestion chosen!

This version of the Green Hornet resembles the 1960’s Archie version of the Shadow.

What was the Saga cover homaging? I saw it but it wasn’t registering with me.
