The Great Comic Book Cover Homage Streak: Week 56

It occurs to me that it seems like many comic book covers are homages. Which is fine with me. I have no problem with it. It just made me think, though, how long could I go before I hit a week where NO new comic book was released that had a cover that was an homage to something? Let’s find out! Here is an archive of all the cover homages featured in the streak so far!

This week, we’ll go with Leonel Castellani’s cover for New Avengers #11, which is homaging John Romita Jr. and Bob Layton’s cover for Iron Man #150

Fifty-six weeks down! Will we make it to week fifty-seven?

When you see it, you’ll sh*t blocks.

I was going to say that their arms are twisted in a really unrealistic way, even for a Lego minifgure, but then I looked at the original Iron Man #150 cover. I wonder if Doom was originally supposed to be wielding something in his right hand on that cover, because it’s no way to throw a punch.
