Aww, I suggested Death & Thanos and Angela & Thor as well

I don’t know if my Green Lantern + Photon pic is what therealAstrozac had in mind. I also did a John Stewart version as well as a same-sex version to celebrate the Olympics. See them here: http://dereklangille.blogspot.ca/2014/02/glpt.html

Ha! Awesome! Love that one by Bill Walko!

I’m always a fan of the super cute/homicidal Deadpool/Harley Quinn pairing.

The look on Groot’s face in Perks’ drawing is fantastic.

I’ve always liked the appearance of Gaiman’s Death in PAD’s Hulk… and her urge to get away quickly before that creep Thanos shows up.

I now really want to read a Cap/ Zinda crossover story. She’d scandalize him.

Damn, I was the one who suggested that Wonder Woman/Yorick Brown pairing and little did I know what a gorgeously trippy piece Thea and Amanda would create! Brilliant on so many levels! Thank you so much for that, ladies. :)

My favorite is Razer/Jocasta. I love the way it evokes those old romance comics.

Brendan, I had to look twice to be sure your Groo wasn’t drawn by Aragones himself. Love it!

Groo & Red Sonja. Hands-down WINNER! :-D

Walko’s was amazing, but nothing can top Groo. That is a universal truth.

Great job all around, though.

I love that Tobin drew Red Sonja in a style reflecting Aragonés’ own. Great job!

Ever since Angela joined the Marvel-verse, I was hoping to see her paired up with a god of some type :D

Oh man, what a great batch of pictures! So sad that Bill Walko is leaving, but glad that we still have such a great lineup of people.

Everyone was awesome, but a few highlights:

Love Hostetler’s homage to Blue is the Warmest Color, but my French is rusty (orange rusty, even). Orange is the what? color?

Tobin doin’ a great Aragones impression. Awesome.

Medellin’s tabloid scandal is wonderful.

And Bill leaving us with a great batch of Valentines. Aw!

I’m totally blanking — who’s Zinda Blake? Yeah, I could look it up, but I’m lazy. Y’all know that.

The safeword is SHAZAM? That is going to get icky fast.

Thank You Bill! Don’t be a stranger and good luck in your future projects. And what a way to go out!

All of these are winners and as a guy who loathes Valentine’s Day, I can’t recommend the fun in these pics enough….

P.S. Can we alert DC to get Xum to do that Green Lantern Animated Series book yet? I mean someone over there HAS to be seeing this?

Oh, Travis, Travis, Travis — you sweet rotating shaft of imperceptible length, you… (“chaude” is “hottest”, by the way.)

Zinda Blake is Lady Blackhawk; that’s her jacket with the Blackhawk logo hanging on the stool above Steve’s duffel bag. If Rachel finishes her story in the way Gail Simone wrote Zinda, Steve will end the evening under the table while Zinda cleans out the bar. An awesome character that needs to be brought back — and that’s how you know she’s owned by DC.

I really can’t compliment Rachel Ordway enough on that piece; I want to see the story she’s created for these two. Or at least hear the pitch.

Sweet freakin’ Hera, my suggestions were morbid this week! You all will be happy to know that Danny survived the holiday with everything intact. Although he almost didn’t when he looked at the screen and said, “Shouldn’t that be Anti-Life JUSTIFIES never having to say you’re sorry?” I’m gonna blame Twitter for that.

Didn’t know that PAD had written that Death was avoiding Thanos when she showed up in Hulk. Too funny, and I love that Chaz remembered there was originally a letters page.

Mystique may actually be in trouble; go Google a video called “Scientifically Accurate DuckTales” if you want your childhood destroyed — or to find out what she’s in for. It’s enough to make her head back to the Smurf village.

Groot, Swampy (pay attention to that knife, willya?), and Ivy would make a love triangle worthy of a CW series — “Eats, Shoots, and Leaves”, anyone?

IIRC, Aya looks like Razer’s dead wife, right? (And she CHOSE that, for some reason. This was a kids’ show?) This is a storyline so diabolical, only Professor Xum can handle it.

With all the variant covers, Brendan should at least have a shot at a Red Sonja paycheck, right? I’m pretty sure Gail Simone has come by this blog before…

As good as Axel’s artwork is — seriously, does ANYONE draw monsters better? — the framing device and the jokes flow perfectly.

Quite the final bow, Walko — I was sad to see you are leaving, and even sadder after seeing these cards. You have a totally inappropriate, twisted, and perverted sense of humor that I will miss on seeing on a regular basis. Good fortune in all your future endeavors, you sick bastard! *HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG*

No wonder Yorick is smiling… all this, and Jackie Wilson for a soundtrack. Excuse me, gotta get this rope pattern down, for my own.. artistic purposes. Go get your own husband!

I honestly didn’t even think about John Stewart, but just the pairing of the two characters

@Becca, you flatterer…

Another great week.

I love how Groot and Poison Ivy turned out. Thank you! There’s so much of a story in that expression on Groot’s face…

All of the entries tell stories this week – and there’s some really good humor in there too. Chad’s homage to Peter and MJ – priceless. The Valentine’s cards… oh Bill, very cheeky! And I totally want to read Hellboy and Scully, Groo and Red Sonja, Big Barda and Wolverine, and Zinda Blake and Steve Rogers. And of course Groot and Poison Ivy.

Xum as always gives us a perfect comic cover – even though I don’t know the characters, I get the whole story. Very cool.

Love this feature!

Bill Walko’s work here has been fantastic. Thanks for the free entertainment for so long!

thor angela just got awkward, but i guess incest is OK for gods
