Accepting Submissions for a Month of Women in Comics

The current Month of African-American comic book creators has been going so well (the turnout was outstanding – sadly way more than I can actually cover in the month – nearly 100 submissions for “only” 32 spots) that I figure we might as well keep this going for next month, as well, with a Month of Women in Comics.

So if you’re a female comic book creator (or if one of your co-creators is female), feel free to send in your comic (webcomics included) for review/spotlight during the month of March, where I’ll review/spotlight 31 current comic books by female comic book creators.

Check out the sidebar (or click here) to read where to e-mail/mail review copies of your work (it’s probably best, if possible, if you just send the comics electronically – it doesn’t make a difference to me while it’s likely easier for you).

Note that this is just for people to submit their own works. If you have a friend that you think would be good for this, just let them know to submit their work!

Good idea. However, I predict you will get roughly ten billion submissions.

Print or web?

Although considering how many women have webcomics that could probably be a month’s worth by itself.

Either.

I’m going to quote one of my favorite MST3K lines, I believe from Hobgoblins:

“Women get everything!”

Seriously, this is both awesome and not. Awesome because Brian has been highlighting some really good stuff this month, and will continue to do so with this, and not so much because now I have like another dozen or so comics that interest me and that I wanna look for. Dang, man, my wallet can’t take it!

Quick question: If the comic is a webcomic, does the creator have to turn it into a PDF, or can they send a link to their webcomic?

It’d be easier to send them as a PDF, yes.
