The Great Comic Book Cover Homage Streak: Week 80

It occurs to me that it seems like many comic book covers are homages. Which is fine with me. I have no problem with it. It just made me think, though, how long could I go before I hit a week where NO new comic book was released that had a cover that was an homage to something? Let’s find out! Here is an archive of all the cover homages featured in the streak so far!

I figured I’d hold off an run last week and this week’s together, because they’re both related. For this first one, we’ll go with Lewis LaRosa’s cover for Archer and Armstrong #19, which is homaging Bill Sienkiewicz’s Power Man and Iron Fist Marvel house ads from the 1980s

We know we’ll get to week eighty-one since this is a two-part bit!

Kevin Pollak has really let himself go.

Aren’t these supposed to be hamages of comic covers?
Getting a little loose with the concept here.

Nope. Right from the start it has been “homage to something.” The eighth week of the streak was the first time it wasn’t a comic.
