The Line it is Drawn #186 – Comic Book Characters/Wrestlers – An Ultimate Warrior Tribute

Welcome to our weekly gallery of amazing art by our great collection of artistic talent, all working from YOUR suggestions!

Go follow Comics Should Be Good on Twitter (if you have Twitter, that is – if you don’t, you can go sign up). Here is our Twitter page… http://twitter.com/csbg. And here are the Comics Should Be Good writers who are on Twitter (the links go to the person’s Twitter account) – myself, Greg Hatcher, Chad Nevett, Kelly Thompson, Bill Reed, Greg Burgas, Sonia Harris, Melissa K. and Ken H.

I update the blog’s Twitter account updates whenever a new post is put up on the blog, so it’s an easy way to keep up with the blog. In addition, I post new content on the blog’s Twitter account.

Now on to the bit!

So every week, I ask a question here. You reply to it on our Twitter page (just write @csbg with your reply) and our blog sketch artists will each pick one of your suggestions and I will post them here every week. So every week you will have a new question and you will see the choices picked from the previous week. Here is an archive of all the previous editions of The Line It Is Drawn!

To qualify, you have to be following us when you reply – so go follow us and then give your answer to the following question/challenge (All suggestions due by 3pm Pacific Friday).

The topic is…

It’s Spring Break time! So suggest something that a comic book character would do for spring break! Somebody better suggest Batman water skiing!

Read on for the sketches that came about courtesy of the last question/challenge!

In tribute to the passing of the Ultimate Warrior, team-up a comic book character with a famous professional wrestler. It doesn’t have to be the Warrior himself, but I’d imagine that it would be nice if he could appear a few times next week at the very least.

I’ll put them in alphabetical order based on the name of the Twitter user who made the suggestion.

R.I.P. Ultimate Warrior

Okay, folks, now go make suggestions for next week!

Oh, and go out and buy Liner Joshua Gowdy’s new comic, Skinned! Read more about it here!

The Kalibak/Ulik picture is out of order, directly under the Champion picture instead of with its credit. (Full description so I don’t look insane after it’s fixed. <_< )

…I thought “Randy Cyclops” was the one that Emma Frost preferred. (http://instantrimshot.com)

Randy Savage vs. Spider-Man

That one didn’t even need to be a drawing. They could have just used a still from the first Sam Rami movie.

“Bone Saw is READEEEEEEE!!”

How can I sign up to be one of these artists?

Would have loved to see one where Northstar beats up the Ultimate Warrior.

Is the Savage vs. Spider-man cover a homage? It looks very familiar. I love the figure arrangement and camera angle.

Macho Man Cyclops is pretty great, but my favourite bit is the 90’s X-Men card style.

Hogan and the Hulks made me LOL. And Sorry, but Ultimates Ultimate Warrior is the king of cop-outs with the silhouettes.

Great work, everybody! :-)

Heh. “Beat up Doctor Doom for petty cash”.

I love looking at these each week. You guys are amazing.

Randy Savage versus Spider-Man, heh. Somehow, it sounds familiar.

Love these, even if my fondness for wrasslin’ went out in the early 90s :D
I had also suggested the Hulk Hogan/Agents of SMASH idea, great work all around

Love the Hulk/Hulk Hogan/S.M.A.S.H cartoon!

I have to admit, the way the other Hulks were listed made me think of Dr Seuss’ One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. :-D

Before I clicked the link, I thought “Man, I bet there are going to be at least two Hulk/ Hulk Hogan mash-ups!!” The pictures did not disappoint!!

Great work. Loved the Hulk vs Andre the Giant. Just what I was going for with my suggestion. Hulk vs Thing and Macho Man Cyclops(which should be his name nowadays) and Mankind, Joker and Batman are great as well.

I know nothing at all about wrasslin’, but the Hulk/Hulks one is pretty darn funny.

Haven’t followed wrestling at all since I was about 11. Ultimate Warrior’s comics certainly were… interesting to say the least. Well anyway, I really liked Red Hulk Hogan as well as him joining the of Agents of SMASH and fighting Andre the Thing. Macho Man Randy Cyclops and that Doc Doom reference in Luke Cage/Roddy Piper one were funny as well.

Thanks for the good writeup. It if truth be told was once
a enjoyment account it. Look complex to more added agreeable from you!
By the way, how could we communicate?

This week, Rachel wins the championship belt.
