The Great Comic Book Cover Homage Streak: Week 90

It occurs to me that it seems like many comic book covers are homages. Which is fine with me. I have no problem with it. It just made me think, though, how long could I go before I hit a week where NO new comic book was released that had a cover that was an homage to something? Let’s find out! Here is an archive of all the cover homages featured in the streak so far!

This week, we’ll go with Michael Walsh’s cover for Archer and Armstrong #21, which is homaging the album cover for The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s Are You Experienced

ninety weeks down! Will we make it to week ninety-one?

What I learn from this is that at this point the Archer & Armstrong team are designing their covers just for this feature.

Would Hulk 6 (from September’s solicts) be considered an Uncanny X-Men 141 Homage cover?

I thought no at first but I’m not sure. I need an official ruling.

I don’t believe so, no.

Well, I don’t think the background element is a coincidence (in John Klein III’s link), but it doesn’t look like there’s been any effort to homage the cover as a whole.

That’s what I was thinking but I needed some confirmation, thanks Brian and buttler!
