The Line it is Drawn #200 – Brand-New Super Teams!

Welcome to our weekly gallery of amazing art by our great collection of artistic talent, all working from YOUR suggestions!

Go follow Comics Should Be Good on Twitter (if you have Twitter, that is – if you don’t, you can go sign up). Here is our Twitter page… http://twitter.com/csbg. And here are the Comics Should Be Good writers who are on Twitter (the links go to the person’s Twitter account) – myself, Greg Hatcher, Chad Nevett, Kelly Thompson, Bill Reed, Greg Burgas, Sonia Harris, Melissa K. and Ken H.

I update the blog’s Twitter account updates whenever a new post is put up on the blog, so it’s an easy way to keep up with the blog. In addition, I post new content on the blog’s Twitter account.

Now on to the bit!

So every week, I ask a question here. You reply to it on our Twitter page (just write @csbg with your reply) and our blog sketch artists will each pick one of your suggestions and I will post them here every week. So every week you will have a new question and you will see the choices picked from the previous week. Here is an archive of all the previous editions of The Line It Is Drawn!

To qualify, you have to be following us when you reply – so go follow us and then give your answer to the following question/challenge (All suggestions due by 3pm Pacific Friday).

The topic is…

After such a complicated week, we’re going back to basics, literally, with a repeat of the theme for the very first Line it is Drawn, have two characters from different comic book companies who have never crossed over with each other have a crossover. But let’s do a twist this time around, in honor of Uncanny X-Men #201 (and the Cyclops/Storm fight), have it be heroes from two different comic book companies who have never crossed over with each other FIGHTING each other!

Read on for the sketches that came about courtesy of the last question/challenge!

The theme is a revisit of one of my all-time favorite topics, Week 50’s “Super Team.” Make up your own super-team consisting of 1 Marvel character, 1 DC character, 1 character from an independent comic book company and 2 characters from any other form of fiction (novels, movies, whatever).

I’ll put them in alphabetical order based on the name of the Twitter user who made the suggestion (with one exception this week).

Wow, a heck of a great 200th edition, everyone! Thanks a lot!

Okay, folks, here’s to another 200! Starting with you making suggestions for next week!

i didnt want this to end. fun stuff, great job!

Marco D’Alfonso nailed it. Again.

WOW. Everyone went all out.

an AMAZING week, artists!!

Wow, this is great stuff. Thanks for knocking my suggestion out of the park, Bill Walko! The funny thing is, after the deadline passed, I thought, “Oh MAN! What was I thinking? Instead of Vampirella, I should have said She-Ra!”

Also, well played, Xum. Well played.

(But I wouldn’t have missed Vampi’s expression on the actual result for the world, so it worked out better than I could have imagined.)

Wow. The art was great. But the suggestions? Out of this world AMAZING! Good choices, people!

Thanks, Buttler. I like Vampi’s inclusion, so Buffy can give her the stink eye. ; )

Love the Medellin one; Great suggestions and great art – a worthy 200!

Seeing Wordgirl meet Hitgirl would be worth the price of admission alone

Uhm, Rogues ftw. My favorite easily, but these are all awesome.

This is my favorite part of comics fandom, the discussions about who could beat who and the dream team ups that never happen.

Love it.

Interesting design choice not to go with a faux Miller style with the Miller All-Stars piece.

Wow, simply superb. Paul Hostetler’s Rogues is SEXAY!

Adore the Walko piece too and Derek Langille keeps getting more awesome each week.

Thanks Michael! I figured it was a nice way to do a little back-handed comment about female characters not getting a fair crack at live-action adaptation. Cheers.

Ev, that’s going right to my head. I’m going to be insufferable now. More so.

Atomic Robo!

Personally, I think the Flaming Carrot should’ve been in the “Weird Comics” one. He’d be a natural fit, I would think.

Benn, he’s hiding behind the logo.

Putting Krang inside Braniac was a stroke of genius.

Also forgot to add
200 Lines have been Drawn! Hot diggity daffodil!

LOVE the Warriors 5! :-)

Lots of good team-ups, and it’s nice to see characters like Martha Washington and Promethea making appearances. Would have been interesting to see characters from ElfQuest or Saga, too, but this is still a really good installment of TLIID.

I’d kill for the Tom Strong book to be real! As long as Alan Moore was the writer…

Of course Rogues magazine has no cover price — it’s only stolen off newsstands!

Man, we are truly blessed every week to have such awesome artists doing great pieces for us every week. I miss Caanan and Bill and was glad to see them show up, but the current regulars do a great job every week. YAY!

@David Branstetter: Damn, I missed seeing him. Thanks for pointing him out. Now the pic’s perfect!

Man, that Tom Strong piece is DOPE!

Damn. I’m exhausted!

OHHH! Everybody killt it! It’s a goodness overload!

Looks like Axel & Prof. Xum took my master bait and cleverly flipped it! lol

Derek, Derek, Derek… BYOO-TEE-FULL!

Thanks, fellas!! Happy 200th, one and all!

They all look great, but “Warriors Five” looks like a real book. (As mentioned above: She-Ra instead of Vampirella).
