The Great Comic Book Cover Homage Streak: Week 101

It occurs to me that it seems like many comic book covers are homages. Which is fine with me. I have no problem with it. It just made me think, though, how long could I go before I hit a week where NO new comic book was released that had a cover that was an homage to something? Let’s find out! Here is an archive of all the cover homages featured in the streak so far!

This week, we’ll go with Andy Hirsch’s cover for Regular Show #14, which is homaging M.C. Escher’s Relativity..

One hundred and one weeks down! Will we make it to week one hundred and two?

Is the cover for Cyclops #4 an homage? It looks like it might be. It’s very striking.

It’s a great cover, but no, it’s an original by Alexander Lozano (he’s become quite the strong cover artist for Marvel).

Cyclops #4 does remind me of the famous Gods of Mars cover:

But it is different enough to almost certainly be coincidental
