The Line it is Drawn #283 – Batman v Superman Edition!

Welcome to our weekly gallery of amazing art by our great collection of artistic talent, all working from YOUR suggestions!

Go follow Comics Should Be Good on Twitter (if you have Twitter, that is – if you don’t, you can go sign up). Here is our Twitter page… http://twitter.com/csbg. And here are the Comics Should Be Good writers who are on Twitter (the links go to the person’s Twitter account) – myself, Greg Hatcher, Chad Nevett, Kelly Thompson, Bill Reed, Greg Burgas and Sonia Harris

I update the blog’s Twitter account updates whenever a new post is put up on the blog, so it’s an easy way to keep up with the blog. In addition, I post new content on the blog’s Twitter account.

Now on to the bit!

So every week, I ask a question here. You reply to it on our Twitter page (just write @csbg with your reply) and our artists will each pick one of your suggestions and I will post their drawings based on your suggestions here every week. So every week you will have a new question and you will see the choices picked from the previous week. Here is an archive of all the previous editions of The Line It Is Drawn!

To qualify, you have to be following us when you reply – so go follow us and then give your answer to the following question/challenge (All suggestions due by 3pm Pacific Friday).

The topic for the next Line is…

It’s still time enough for March MODOK Madness, so that’s the theme! Note that the official NCAA March Madness ends in early April, so so too does March MODOK Madness end in early April! This year, it’s suggest celebrities that you’d like to see drawn as MODOKs!

Read on for the drawings that came about courtesy of the last question/challenge!

With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice debuting next week, come up with Batman v Superman scenarios, but not traditional fights. So Batman v Superman…on Iron Chef! Batman v Superman….at badminton! Stuff like that. Go nuts.

Enjoy!

I’ll put them in alphabetical order based on the name of the Twitter user who made the suggestion.

The chess game was my laugh for the day (and nicely drawn, too!). I also enjoyed the panty raid and “Family Feud.” Thanks, artists (and suggesters)!

They were all great but the Family Feud was hilarious.

Note to Conan Sinclair: If you’re doing your own scripting/lettering, please invest in a dictionary. The word is ACCEPT, not “except.” If you’re letting someone else do it, get him or her a dictionary. (“Except,” when used as a verb, means “to leave out.”

Note to JosephW, maybe the girl said the wrong word and Conan recorded it correctly?

Note to JosephW: Lois is obviously saying that Superman should make an exception and not receive that rose from her. I don’t know why that rose in an exception, but I guess I don’t the humor of the image.

That’s sarcasm by the way. JosephW is correct that the word should be “accept” and artists should be extra careful about word usage in their artwork.

@JosephW – twelve pieces of art and all you can comment on is one spelling mistake. That says something about you.
@John – in your criticism you have one typo and one word missing completely. Good going.
That’s sarcasm by the way.

Family Feud is hilarious.

I take acception to all these spelling-related comments.

Robin’s last line in Family Feud made me laugh the most.
But it was a near thing once I saw Batman’s drawing in Xum’s offering. Oh, Batman. Proof that having loads of money will not buy you talent with a writing tool. :D

Notice that only one person drew Superman as DC52’s version. Everyone else went Classic. :)

I except those kinds of spelling comments from anyone expect buttler.

Kyer, it can’t be called the Classic superman for nothing. :)

I also want to point out how damn funny Matt Sandbrook’s Duck Hunt version of the Crime Alley scene is. Excellent!

“Superman, will you? Except – this rose is red kryptonite! Batmaaan!” Superman turns into a rosebush.

You are fools and ignoramuses!* Lois cannot fasten the rose on Superman’s costume with a pin because of impregnable material, force field and blah blah. Therefore she asks for an exception which Superman gracefully grants her. It’s all clestal cryar.

*(c) Barry Windsor-Smith

I’m a little confused as to why everyone seems to be assuming that’s Lois.

Loved ‘em all. Nicks & Xum’s as usual are my favourites but all great. I except that I too had trouble with the spelling mistake and would complain, accept it would be a bit petty to bring someone to task over something they did for free that I enjoyed thoroughly….

And that’s how Plucky Duck became Batduck.
