Five Goofiest Moments in the Team-Up Issues of The Brave and the Bold #55-61

Every day this month will have the five goofiest moment from a five-issue stretch of a particular comic book run. Once a week it will be the ten goofiest moments of a ten-issue stretch. Here is a list of the moments featured so far.

Today we’re looking at the next five team-up stories from The Brave and the Bold #55-61 (issues #57 and 58 were not team-ups). They were written by Bob Haney (#55-56, #59-60) and Gardner Fox (#61) and drawn by Ramond Fradon and Charles Paris (penciler/inker team on #55 and #59), Bernard Baily (artist for #56), Bruno Premiani (artist for #60) and Murphy Anderson (artist for #61). The team-ups were the Atom and the Metal Men (#55), Flash/Martian Manhunter (plus Hawkgirl!) (#56), Batman/Green Lantern (#59), the first official Teen Titans team-up (#60) and Golden Age Starman/Golden Age Black Canary (#61).

Every day this month will have the five goofiest moment from a five-issue stretch of a particular comic book run. Once a week it will be the ten goofiest moments of a ten-issue stretch. Here is a list of the moments featured so far.

Today we’re looking at the first five issues of Marvel Team-Up, featuring writing from Roy Thomas (#1) and Gerry Conway (#2-5) and artwork by Ross Andru (pencils, #1-3), Gil Kane (pencils, #4-5), Mike Esposito (inks, #1 and 5), Jim Mooney (inks #2), Frank Giacoia (inks #3 and part of #4), Steve Mitchell (inks most of #4) and John Romita (inks part of #4). The first three issues see Spidey teamed up with the Human Torch, while issue #4 sees him teamed up with the X-Men and #5 with the Vision.

Today we’re looking at The Flash #175-180 (you might notice that that is six issues, well, #178 was an all-reprint issue, so I’m not counting it), which were all drawn by Ross Andru and Mike Esposito, with a different writer handling each issue (E. Nelson Bridwell wrote #175, John Broome wrote #176, Gardner Fox wrote #177, Cary Bates wrote #179 and Frank Robbins wrote #180). These issues are all from 1967-68.

Every day this month will have the five goofiest moment from a five-issue stretch of a particular comic book run. Once a week it will be the ten goofiest moments of a ten-issue stretch. Here is a list of the moments featured so far.

Today we’re looking at Avengers Unplugged #1-5, the first five issues of a mid-90s Avengers spin-off that was part of a short-lived line of 99 cent comics designed to tie-in to Marvel’s top superhero books. This is where we got the greatness that was Untold Tales of Spider-Man, but it is also where we got Avengers Unplugged. #1-2, 4-5 were written by Glenn Herdling and #3 was written by Mike Lackey. They were drawn by M.C. Wyman/Sandu Florea (#1-3, 5) and John Statema/Scott Koblish (#4).

Today we’re looking at the ten goofiest moments from Journey Into Mystery #83-92, the first ten comics featuring The Mighty Thor! The stories were plotted by Stan Lee, scripted by Larry Lieber, with pencils by Jack Kirby on #83-89, Al Hartley on #90 and Joe Sinnott on #91-92. Sinnott inked Kirby’s first issue, then Dick Ayers inked #84-89. Hartley and Sinnott inked themselves.
