Uncollected Classics week is over, but today we’ll look at a work that WAS uncollected for nearly twenty years!! It’s Walt Simonson’s classic “Return of the REAL Doctor Doom” storyline from Fantastic Four #350 and 352!

Uncollected Classics week concludes with a hidden gem that I doubt many folks remember, despite it being only a decade long and containing work by a trio of notable creators. It is the 1999-2000 mini-series, Brave Old World, by William Messner-Loebs, Guy Davis and Phil Hester, about a group of scientists transported from January 1st, 2000 to January 1st, 1900 and what happens when they try to get back home.

A Year of Cool Comics – Day 324

Uncollected Classics week continues with a storyline from a notable run that has very few parts of it collected, Roger Stern’s Avengers run. I don’t believe anyone specifically requested this storyline, but it just seemed to stand out for me in how much it would work as a trade paperback nowadays, especially with the Chaos War stuff. So without further due, I give you “The Olympus War,” from Avengers #281-285, by Roger Stern, John Buscema and Tom Palmer!

Uncollected Classics week continues with a look at an uncollected story arc from John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake’s The Spectre (most of the series has never been reprinted, which is absurd). I think more than one person suggested I feature a Spectre story, but Andrew Collins’ e-mail was the one I read when I decided to do it, so Andrew gets the credit!

The storyline I’m looking at today is “The Haunting of Jim Corrigan,” from Spectre #52-56, as we learn a mystery from Jim Corrigan’s past while his relationship with the Spectre becomes more and more strained…
