“It took me some time to figure out that love is in the details. It’s in the books and records and the stereo and the convertible. Love is always in the details. And that’s where the pain is too.” (John Crowley, from Aegypt)

Soraya isn't really the star of the book, but you never pass up a chance to put a hot chick on the cover! He uses that gun to swat insects. True! This is only the start of the egg puns! Sue is actually on this cover ... you just can't see her! I already have this cover tattooed on my ass! Long may the mullet wave! Well, hello there! Where've you been? That cover is sure to please the ladies! Oh, Mouse Guard, why do you ever go away? 'It's your turn to pick up the tab!' 'The hell you say!' I'm not quite sure why Thomas Edison is on this cover, but whatever Every once in a while I have to bring up how very much I hate that trade dress When in doubt, put a stripper on the cover! Get funky, Nick! The entire cover is a synopsis of the interior, because Brian Hurtt is awesome! Why the hell does Blair Butler keep getting quoted on books? I love Johnson's cover designs! Boy, I really hope this book is back on track! It's for the kids! Also for the kids! Kids fighting Nazis? Definitely for the kids! Okay, I can't work in the kid theme ... just buy the original Super Spy AND this, together! Well, I checked this out briefly, and it definitely looks like it's for the kids!

“Today’s lesson is, if someone puts poison in your tea, don’t drink it.” (Christopher Moore, from Lamb)

I hope someone gives Qassim a hand! Bwah-ha-ha! I dig the question marks in the background! Brett Weldele needs more work! That can't be good! Yes, I finally got this! Hot damn, this is cool! This is how ALL football games should be decided! Freaky-deaky! You must love the Kaluta art! Mashing it up! Sigh ... more Deadpool! So much rage! Fact: Chris Samnee is awesome! History! I'm really looking forward to this!

What I bought – 10 February 2010

“Reading,” he says, “is always this: there is a thing that is there, a thing made of writing, a solid material object, which cannot be changed, and through this thing we measure ourselves against something else that is not present, something else that belongs to the immaterial, invisible world, because it can only be thought, imagined, or because it was once and is no longer, past, lost, unattainable, in the land of the dead …”

“Or that is not present because it does not yet exist, something desired, feared, possible or impossible,” Ludmilla says. “Reading is going toward something that is about to be, and no one yet knows what it will be …” (There, now you see the Other Reader leaning forward to peer beyond the edge of the printed page at the ships of the rescuers or the invaders appearing on the horizon, the storms …) “The book I would like to read now is a novel in which you sense the story arriving like still-vague thunder, the historical story along with the individual’s story, a novel that gives the sense of living through an upheavel that still has no name, has not yet taken shape …” (Italo Calvino, from If on a winter’s night a traveller)

Ah! Scary eyes! Call me wacky, but I love that cover! So we're supposed to turn this upside-down or something? Yes, it's another cool cover of this series! Kicking ass and collecting flowers! Blast away, Bob! So sad! Um, yeah ... spoiler alert, I guess Penises!!!!! Trippy! Who knew Goebbels might be a bad guy? Why so angry, Mr. Knight?
