“It never occurs to you that the beautiful princess and the wicked old witch believe exactly the same thing: Anything at all, including cunning and lies, will work for the beautiful; nothing helps the ugly.” (John Gardner, from Freddy’s Book)

I have always pitied poor Abraham. Here he had the sword from his sheath, only seconds away from slitting his son’s throat, and he had to sacrific a ram in his son’s place. What a disappointment it must have been. What a damn tragedy. (Jeremy Leven, from Creator)

This cover feels all Seventies, man! Are they tiptoeing so they don't wake the students up? 'Why are the readers so dim?!?!?!?!' Considering all that happens in this comic, this cover could have been a lot cooler As neat as this cover is, the variant is wicked awesome! I like the way the bullet is spraying numbers out of the dude's skull Sigh. Yet another tremendous cover in this series! Monthly? Um, yeah, maybe not This just proves it: Chicks shouldn't make comics, man! Ken Hale sez: Even though I'm a gorilla, you still wish you wuz me! Yet more propaganda! Things get worse. I know, shocking. This is monster huge, man! More Darwyn Cooke goodness! You know, you don't have enough gore in your lives! More comics goodness than you deserve! In case you're wondering, yes, J. Bone is awesome I love this uncluttered cover Who drinks pink tea? I don't even have to read this to know it's awesome! Damned landscape printing!

That woman was the closest thing to himself Achilles had ever come across. But he didn’t find out until a moment after he had killed her. She was hostile, and dead: everything Achilles loved in a woman. (Roberto Calasso, from The Marriage of Cadmus and Harmony)

How does he pee? That's not a great cover, but it's a pretty neat drawing! He just read his own comic, and that's what happened to him! That table is only forty bucks at Cost Plus! You're in trouble when the palm trees start staring at you On the plus side, he's a hit at raves! McKeever writes his dates the cool way! That Darwyn Cooke - he has a future in this biz, I think They look like they're about to tango! Goin' crazy gives a man a powerful hunger! Man, I love this issue Ain't nothin' more American than shootin' guns at a football game! Now I have a hankering for some soul sushi I don't think J. Bone is capable of doing a bad cover Why, everyone loves the Tommy Taylor books! It's all ...... giant-sized!!!!! He won an award that begins with an 'X'! That means it HAS to be good! I'm dying to read this!

You go all your life thinking of your parents as these crushing protective monsters with infinite power over you, and then there’s a day when you turn round, catching them unexpectedly, and they’re just weak, nervous people trying to get by with each other. (Hanif Kureishi, from The Buddha of Suburbia)

Bruce Wayne angry! Grrr!!!!! Hi-YAAAA! Hey ladies in the place I'm callin' out to ya! So many great covers in this series! The covers of this story arc are SPOOKY!!!!! There's a distressing lack of gunplay in this issue! Okay, I've never seen Tora with long hair. Never ever ever. Why does she have long hair on this cover? What a fine way to die! I don't hate this Humberto Ramos cover! So much detail! Man, I did NOT see that coming! Sinkiewiczey! Templar-iffic!

You stay in prison, what your time calls duty, honor, self-respect, and you are comfortably safe. Or you are free and crucified. Your only companions the stones, the thorns, the turning backs; the silence of cities, and their hate. (John Fowles, from The French Lieutenant’s Woman)

Feel the burn! Now with 100% less Vampire Dimension! The over/under on number of issues this lasts is SIX! Yes, this scene actually appears in the comic itself! Man, I love all of these covers! Look at those dreamy pecs! Something is creepy about that cover, and I can't figure out what! Nothing subliminal to see here, folks! What did poor Will ever do to anyone? Rassum-frassum Cronin! If you don't like Mike Grell's art, you make Baby Jesus cry! Lousy ninjas! Nipples will strike you blind! He's gleefully nutty! Poor Pauly Bruckner!
