Committed: Deadpool MAX – Doing It Wrong
With a Lapham/Baker Deadpool MAX, my expectations were high, but it is possible that someone mixed up the contracts. Hiring Kyle Baker to write Deadpool MAX with David Lapham to draw it would make so much sense. Instead Lapham shows that he is more than capable of writing some seriously nasty stuff, but his humor is distinctly mean-spirited and Baker’s art only compounds the misery.
What I bought – 2 September 2009
My wish: DC should charge one thin dollar for every issue of Justice League: Gay for Justice. It’s so not worth four dollars, but man! for one dollar, I would be all over that just for the sheer entertainment value. Didn’t everyone love that panel of Prometheus slicing that woman’s head off? GOLD!
And always remember: If you’re going to hire Machete to kill the bad guy, you’d better be damn sure the bad guy isn’t you!

What I bought – 15 July 2009
This week: I’m still having fun with the new format! I added something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, but could never figure out. Other Greg does it all the time, though. Can you suss out what it is?
Plus: Nudity and Swearing! And the return of a long-absent publisher! Whoo-hoo! (Seriously, lots of swearing. You’ve been warned. And no, this is not a judgment about these comics at all. I just bought a lot of comics, and a lot featured swearing and nudity, so I thought it would be fun to compare and contrast.)
